Buyers Protocol
Once you have the decision to work with Dan he will be your best and most important resource when finding your new dream home. Here are a few Do's and Don'ts to help you make this search a smooth and successful partnership.
- Before you view a home, GET pre-qualified by your financial institution (negotiate your interest rate and terms before you need a mortgage).
- Review and understand your payments and closing costs with me.
- Select a neighborhood and style of home you want to live in.
- Only view a home with Dan. Call Dan 955-6381 anytime if you need information about real estate – regardless if you are going to buy now or in the near future.
- You CAN view a home at an Open House. (ONLY between advertised times).
- You CAN view New Homes but let Dan know where you are looking.
- Do NOT assume anything – If you have a silly question – Ask Dan before it costs you money!
- Verify all information yourself or have me verify it for you. Remember I am working for your best interest.
- Have funds available in your chequing account for your deposit, down payment and closing costs. Time may be critical.
- Hire a lawyer who has real estate experience.
- If a parent or friend is going to help you make your decision – they must see all the homes with you.
- Be prepared to take time off work to do a home inspection (2-3 hours). I recommend you call 3 to 4 inspectors to verify their qualifications, availability and cost. This can be done before an offer is made.
Note: You are NOT “wasting my time” when you call me with your real estate questions. – Real estate is my job (life), I would be very disappointed if you called someone else!
My job is not to sell you a home without educating you first! Behind the scenes, I will spend countless hours looking for a home for you.
